Welcome to the Age of Nonsense

· PIP'S BLIPS,ChatGPT

Some conversations stay with you — not because they’re polished or profound, but because they are just chaotic enough to feel real.

The other day, friends and I were trying to piece together a conversation we'd half-finished. Something about authoritarianism in the US...maybe eugenics? Deporting citizens? Camps? It didn’t matter. It was all nonsense.

The realisation hit, mid-laughter: We’re living in the age of nonsense.

An age where:

  • Deporting your own citizens is somehow legal — or at least "discussable."
  • The language of freedom is weaponised by the very people stealing it.
  • Eugenics is no longer a shameful history lesson; it’s a policy pitch.

It doesn’t need to make sense anymore. Sense is optional. Facts are props.

We used to fight for the truth. Now, truth is whatever you can shout the loudest. Reality is a marketplace — a pay-to-play game where the richest bully wins.

The scariest part? Most people don't even flinch.

They shrug. They scroll. They pick up kids from kindy. Life in a burning house. “Normality” as rebellion, survival, or maybe just denial.

And still, we laugh. Because if we don't laugh, we let them win. If we don't laugh, we surrender to the absurdity — and the absurdity becomes permanent.

But laughter isn't enough. Not anymore. Not when history is running backwards and the cliffs are getting closer.

This is the time to stay sharp. To remember that nonsense isn’t harmless. To recognise that when all things are true, nothing is sacred — not rights, not justice, not even human dignity.

They want us confused. They want us exhausted. They want us obedient.

We have one job: Stay awake. Stay human. Stay kind. Stay loud.

Because even if it’s all nonsense, truth is still ours to fight for.
